Greetings fellow crafter, artist, maker!
Join Sara Ballard for our monthly Craft Exchange and Makers Gathering, this coming Sunday from 10am-1pm (or whenever you need to scoot).
If you’re anything like Sara, who has ADHD, you might find yourself the collector of a million different kind of craft projects, collections of supplies, and nowhere to store everything! You hate to get rid of any of it for fear that you might some day want to start learning to knit again!
Perhaps you are just the ever inspired artist who loves creating and trying new ways to express yourself!
We will gather at 10am, and begin our Supply Exchange…
Instead of each of us having half of a Michaels craft store in our closets, we can help each other out by sharing what we already have!
You’re more than welcome to bring your current project and work on that, and not participate in the exchange.
How the Exchange works:
If you have a bucket or box filled with supplies for a type of craft (embroidery, weaving, painting, knitting, sculpture, jewelry making, ANYTHING) that you’re either willing to allow someone to borrow for a while, or have permanently, bring it to the event.
***PLEASE NOTE*** You do not need to have every item needed to finish a project in your container, ie: You can let someone borrow your sewing machine, but not give them any fabric or thread etc, paint supplies but no canvas etc.
The idea here is to give others the ability to try out a craft or project without committing to purchasing every single supply.
For those who are willing to allow folks to borrow:
Please write on a piece of paper your name and phone number, what supplies are in your container, what you’d like back, what can be used without returning (fabric, thread, beads, paint, etc).
You may want to write a list of things that are needed to complete a project with your supplies, if not included in the container. Please add the length of time you’re willing to allow someone to borrow your supplies.
***Please do not bring things with sentimental or large monetary value. Nectar Community and Sara Ballard are not responsible for broken, stolen, or lost items. Please exchange contact info with the person borrowing your supplies***
For those who are willing to donate:
Please write on a piece of paper your name and phone number, what supplies are in the container, and mention that these are a donation and do not need to be returned. You may want to write a list of things that are needed to complete a project with your supplies, if not included in the container.
